Decorating Ideas For Halloween

When it comes to fall people often think of leaf clean-up and pulling weeds, but it can be the ideal time to transition from the bright flowers of summer to fun and even spooky Halloween decor. There are tons of ways to incorporate the beautiful colors of fall in your landscaping and  be the best-dressed house in your neighborhood for Halloween. Here are some tips to get you started.

Mums come in a variety of colors and are definitely the perfect way to brighten your landscape or front porch fall display. A few different colors of mums in different sized containers and varying heights will add a stunning and colorful impact to your home’s exterior. Mums can also be planted to accent a walkway, garden path, or around your landscaping. For an added fall touch, consider hollowing out a large pumpkin and placing your potted mums inside.

To add a touch of fun and Halloween vibes to your landscape you can add a couple of gravestones, a traditional scarecrow, a couple of strategically placed cobwebs on top of your mums for a festive holiday look. The traditional Jack-O-Lantern along with other pumpkins and gourds will also add color and holiday vibes to your fall display.

It’s the time of year here in Kentucky when it gets dark earlier. Light up your landscape with beautiful fall lanterns, paper bags with a fun ghost face, or Jack-O-Lanterns with a soft, spooky glow.  This is an inviting way to light the path to your home or light up your porch.  Before your next get together decorate your backyard by adding fall-inspired decorations to your outdoor fireplace, patio, and furniture!

Add serious curb appeal to your home by adding fall leaf garland around your door, elegantly painted pumpkins, corn stalks, and even a new fall wreath.
